Contact & corrections

Report food data issues, calculation problems or suggestions through the project’s public feedback route.

Send feedback to the project

The site’s public contact route is the Veggie Versus issue tracker on GitHub. You can read existing issues without an account; creating one requires a GitHub account. Reports are public, so do not include personal health details, private contact information or other sensitive data.

What to include in a data correction

  1. The food name and whether it is raw, cooked, dried or another preparation.
  2. The nutrient, displayed amount and portion weight you entered.
  3. The exact USDA FDC ID or product label you compared it with.
  4. A short description of the difference you expected to see.

If the calculator itself behaves unexpectedly, include the comparison URL, your browser and the steps that reproduce it. Comparison links contain food IDs and gram weights, so avoid putting private information into them.

Request a food or suggest a guide

Tell us which food or comparison you need and what decision it would help you make. A USDA record with a clear preparation state helps a new food be added without guessing. Requests are not a promise of a response time or publication.
